Privacy policy

BZ101 is an English-language educational publication about classical Chinese texts and interpretive traditions, including BaZi and Liu Yao. This policy describes the limited information this site handles and the services that process it.

Information collected

You can read this site without creating an account or submitting birth information. If you subscribe to the newsletter, the site's own form sends your email address to a Kit-hosted subscription endpoint. Kit processes that address to manage the subscription, including any confirmation step configured for the form, and to deliver BZ101 emails. Do not enter birth dates, birth times, birth places, payment details, health information, or other sensitive personal information in the newsletter form.

If you use the contact form, it collects your name, email address, and message. Your browser sends that information to BZ101's same-origin contact endpoint. A Cloudflare Worker validates the accompanying Turnstile token server-side and uses Resend to deliver the message to a fixed owner inbox. Your email address is used as the message's Reply-To address, not to subscribe you to the newsletter. Do not include birth dates, birth times, birth places, payment details, health information, or other sensitive personal information in the contact form.

If you choose to email BZ101 directly, the sender address and the contents of your email are received in order to read and reply to it. Please do not send birth dates, birth times, birth places, payment details, health information, or other sensitive personal information by email.

Birth information

BZ101 does not ask for, receive through a site feature, or store birth dates, times, or places. It does not offer a chart calculator, personal reading, prediction, or report service on this site. Any future independent product with different data practices will have its own notice before it collects information.

Device preference and technical delivery

The reading-mode preference is stored only in your browser's local storage undermonograph-theme. You can remove it at any time through your browser settings. BZ101 sets no cookies of its own and does not currently operate an analytics or advertising tracking service. The embedded Kit form may use its own cookies or similar technologies to provide and protect the subscription service; see Kit's privacy policy for its practices.

Like other websites, Cloudflare and Kit may process technical request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and time of request for security, reliability, and delivery. Cloudflare also processes the contact-form request and Turnstile token to provide the contact service and bot protection. BZ101 does not use this information to identify readers or build advertising profiles.

Sharing, retention, and your choices

BZ101 does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Newsletter email addresses are shared with Kit only to operate the subscription and are retained there until you unsubscribe or ask BZ101 to delete them.

Contact-form information is processed by Cloudflare Workers and Turnstile, and Resend receives it to send the transactional contact email. The Worker does not store contact submissions in D1, KV, R2, or another BZ101 database. Resend's Free plan retains email data for 30 days. After delivery, the fixed owner inbox may retain the correspondence as reasonably needed to respond, keep a record of the conversation, or meet an applicable legal obligation.

You can unsubscribe through the link in any BZ101 email. You may also ask about, correct, or request deletion of personal information you have sent by email or the contact form. A request may be limited where keeping information is necessary for security, legal, or record-keeping reasons.

Changes and contact

BZ101 may update this policy when its data practices change. Material changes will be reflected by updating this page and its date.
